MESA TRAIL II: TRAIL RUNNING SHOE (MEN) GUIDE
דThe Mesa Trail II is even better than the original! It feels grippier on different trail surfaces, and is one of the lightest trail runners out there. – Alex L.
Tens of thousands of Xero Shoes customers loved the Mesa Trail’s combination of lightweight comfort and trail-gripping security.
The Mesa Trail II improves on that with more rugged, durable, and protective welded components on the upper, a breathable mesh, and a moisture-wicking lining that’s ready for wherever you take it.
FEEL CONNECTED TO YOUR WORLD WHEN YOU RUN IN THE MESA TRAIL II
LIGHTWEIGHT COMFORT
You’ll love hitting the trails with this “just right” balance of lightweight comfort and trail-gripping security. At just 8.2oz for a men’s size 9, the Mesa Trail II is even lighter than the original.
The adjustable midfoot and instep straps hug this trail runner snugly to your foot. The thin, durable toe cap and tough sidewall welding work hard to give you added protection.
TRAIL-GRIPPING
Our patented FeelTrue™ sole features 3.5mm lugs for optimal traction. Enjoy how our 3.5mm TrailFoam™ layer evens out the bumps during your trail run.
WE MAKE TRAIL RUNNING SHOES SO COMFORTABLE, YOU’LL FORGET THEY’RE EVEN ON.
Life-changing comfort and superior performance come from letting your feet do what’s natural – bend, move, flex and feel.
All Xero Shoes feature a wider, foot-shaped toe box that lets your toes spread and relax, a non-elevated “zero drop” heel for proper posture, low-to-the-ground design for better balance and agility, and a flexible sole that gives you the combination of grip, protection, and ground-feel your brain wants to help you Live Life Feet First.

Tried Vivo, these are the winners
Super comfortable on footpaths or the trail, with great ground feel. I've bought HFS and Glenn shoes off the back of how good these are... Good grip in mud, not stellar on wet rock but the soles last and last. Almost a year of wearing these heavily and no issues.

Pleasantly Surprised
I started out on five finger shoes a few years ago and through not being able to get them went back to “normal” shoes. Having just got myself a pair of xero shoes I’m pleasingly surprised how comfortable they are. I’ve had no issues at all wearing them everyday for the last few days after getting them. It’s still early days but I’ll be sure to report back if I have any wear and tear issues. I’d recommend giving them a try if you are looking for a barefoot shoe.

Sturdy and comfortable
I've been using these for nearly a year, good grip, I have run a lot in these and use them a lot of the time for everyday life (gardening, working etc as well) The only issue is when using them in the garden dust / dirt can build up over time between the two layers on the upper, so just have to pull the layers apart slightly while holding the shoe upside down to clean it out every now and then.

Great trail shoes
The perfect minimal trail shoe having great traction with minimum interference with natural foot function. As with all the Xero shoes I’ve had to date there is a small question mark about durability, mainly with the sole separating at the toe after some time. Overall, an excellent lightweight trail shoe.

Great shoes
Took these out on their first run yesterday. Felt great, very comfy, no complaints at all.
-
Excellent all round shoe
These shoe combine the barefoot feeling with a really good grip - I have been using them walking on muddy paths and wet cobble stones and been study and comfortable the whole time. They breathe really well and look quite smart on. Im very happy with these, my third pair of Xeros and first Mese Trail.

Capable and well made trail shoe
I love these shoes but have some small quibbles. Fit is subjective, but if you're coming from other 'foot shaped' shoes like Topo and Altra, you may be disappointed in the toe box. It's narrower and less rounded. Not a massive issue (and obviously personal) but IMO it does affect comfort ability to feel 'planted' on technical trails. Other than that, solid shoe. Well made. Grip is very good - but not great. That said, I'd prefer longevity rather than super-sticky compounds that wear quickly.

Mesa Trail 2
True to size. Feels a bit stiffer in the sole than the HFS. I run on gravel roads and so far the tread is doing a good job of stopping sharp stones from bruising the bottom of my feet.
