The patent-pending webbing system for the Veracruz literally came in a dream. And it feels equally dream-like on your foot. The woven toe loop fades into the background, the instep and heel straps practically disappear, and at just 7.0 ounces, you could forget you’re wearing a sandal at all...until you feel the grippy 3-layer FeelLite™ sole tackle surfaces like the geckos climbing in the webbing. Perfect for travel. It even floats!

    Comfy

These sandals are very comfortable. They do end up going kind of sideways after 5 steps or so and the outside of my heel ends up hanging off the edge and I have to keep sliding back to the middle but hopefully I can experiment with the straps a bit to try to change that. All in all very comfortable.

    Wouldn't recommend

Posted by Erika Fearman on 3rd Oct 2020

First time trying xero shoes and I'm pleased I didn't pay full price. As a podiatrist who believes in the benefits of barefoot movement, I really don't like the positioning of the lateral forefoot strap as it puts pressure on the 5th metatarsal phalangeal joint at toe off, not allowing the forefoot to spread. If I move my foot far enough forward to have the strap in a better location the toe loop digs in, so don't think it's likely to be much better for a larger foot. As a sandal bought to have minimal impact on natural biomechanical function I could not recommended to others. I'm not convinced they're worth $40.

    sizing and comfort

Posted by Aleta Woolf on 17th Sep 2020

It's hard to rate these shoes as there are some aspects i love and others not. In terms of comfort they are super comfy - love the feel of walking in them. I also love the patterns on the straps and the velcro is super strong. However i bought a size up based on the recommendations given on the website however they were much too big. The website says you can cut them down to size but it was super hard to do that - the material is very strong and now my shoes have jagged edges - i've been trying to sand them back on rocks/cement but it's taking ages and it doesnt seem right to have to do this after spending quite a bit of money. It wasn't a matter of just cutting back the front i had to cut the sides as well as they looked like clown shoes otherwise. They looked much broader than what the image online looks like. I'm a 7.5 womens usually and ordered the 38. 37 would have been much better. I would def not recommend ordering up as it really is very ver hard to cut these back and then they look messy. overall, now after all the work of resizing them myself i'm happy wearing them.

    Great sandals

I wasn't sure about the toe loop when I bought them - but it feels comfortable & it actually helps to keep the sandal really stable. They feel very secure on the foot.
